HIMSS' research efforts are designed to make HIMSS the single source for credible research in the healthcare information technology and management systems marketplaces. Our flagship endeavor is the Annual Leadership Survey. Now in its 16th year, this survey provides insight on the priorities, barriers and future of healthcare IT from a variety of perspectives, including CIOs, CEOs and physician and nursing executives. HIMSS also publishes the Vantage Point on a monthly basis. This product provides HIT professionals with the opportunity to respond to current events and issues in the industry. Additional survey research explores issues such as technology use in the ambulatory setting, HIPAA, and patient safety.
