Welcome:
The World of Health IT 08 Conference & Exhibition brings together major health related organisations in collaboration for a European-based conference. In its second year, this unique event is designed to connect leading health information and communication technology experts from Europe and beyond in educational sessions, vendor exhibitions, exchange of experiences and networking sessions, and other professional development opportunities.

How do I become a reviewer for the World of Health education program?
We invite you to consider contributing your skills and knowledge to the World of Health IT conference education program. A Call for Papers has been issued, and as a reviewer, you will participate in the peer review of the proposal abstracts. You will review proposals within a specific topic track and will complete your proposal reviews during the time period of 8 - 25 February 2008. We ask that you please plan your schedule accordingly to allow yourself enough time during these dates to complete your proposal review assignments. Please allow about 20-30 minutes review time per proposal.

Rewards of being a Reviewer

• Your name will be acknowledged before and during the 2008 Conference in conference materials
• You will receive one complimentary, non-transferrable registration to The World of Health IT 08 Conference & Exhibition
• You will be invited to attend a VIP reception at the Conference
• If you are a HIMSS member, you will receive 5 points toward your advancement to Fellow status

Requirements

• Internet access is mandatory (reviews are done over the Conference Website)
• Submit a completed reviewer application form and current curriculum vitae or resume by 21 January.

All Reviewer Candidates are then evaluated by the Education Advisory Board and notified of their decision after review of completed application materials. Upon acceptance, an individual will be considered a Reviewer for The World of Health IT Conference.
NOTE: To avoid conflict of interest, reviewers may not be proposal submitters, speakers or co-speakers for sessions.

Reviewer Obligations

• Review and score on-line proposals – Reviewers will review submitted on-line proposals via the conference website. A Reviewer may expect to review and evaluate/score an average of 10-15 two-page proposals in a given topic area. On-line proposals include speaker information and a 500-word abstract.
• After reading and evaluating on-line proposals, Reviewers will be asked to submit their recommendations to be reviewed by the Education Advisory Board.
• We ask that you please plan your schedule accordingly to allow yourself enough time during the review dates (8 – 25 February) to complete your proposal review assignments. Please allow about 20-30 minutes review time per proposal. So, a total of about 5-8 hours should be allowed.

The review process will be done electronically and you will be provided with specific criteria by which to review the proposals. Send completed application by 21 January 2008 to: jbartley@worldofhealthit.org
